Live Casino Table Games – INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo is one of the first in the state to roll the dice on a live craps table at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Anderson.

“Happy New Year to you guys and thank you for letting me be here and experience this and be a part of something that will improve the state of Indiana,” Oladipo said.

Harrah’s vice president of operations says this marks the end of a 10-year mission to bring table games to Anderson.

The Exploding Popularity Of Live Dealer Games

Instead of electronic tables, you can now play games like blackjack, craps and roulette with live dealers.

“They looked like them, they felt like them, we used to have dealers who wouldn’t touch anything but put money with Tito’s people and passengers after they got blackjack, but now it’s here,” said Todd Berendji, Harrah’s vice president. The President of Operations said. “This is real money, real chips, real cards – everything.”

It’s a change leaders hope will draw more people to Hoosier Park in Anderson and the Indiana Grand Casino in Shelbyville.

“We think people will come from all over the region, where they might not have come to the game,” Berendhi said. “It’s attractive to some people.

“It will add a new dimension and a new element of entertainment. And entertainment to the casino,” said Joe Putnam, who attended the live table games. “Many people love live vendors, and you can see here today that everyone is happy.”

Gas City’s Herbert Hillman often travels to Michigan to scout vendors, but now he can play in Anderson.

“It’s so close. We’re only 20 miles away. Up there we’re 150 miles away,” Hillman said.

“A living person is completely different,” he continued. “You know how to mess them up; you know how they play; you don’t do it on the computer. It makes a big difference.”

Maryland Live Casino To Open 122 Table Games Thursday

From the table games alone, it created 220 new jobs that could expand and add more tables in both locations in the future.

Officials say the new law puts Hoosiers Park and the Indiana Grand — owned by Caesars Entertainment — on the same level by allowing them to operate like the state’s 11 other casinos where dealers are already licensed.
